Pittsburgh Thrashers MELTDOWN Release Full-Length Debut
September 13, 2007Pittsburgh thrashers MELTDOWN have just released their debut album, "Executioner".
Starting in mid-2004, MELTDOWN's sturdy foundations were formed by a group of wayward teenagers. A developing aggression for brainwashed peers met by a growing passion for heavy metal brought the band together. The European sounds of MERCYFUL FATE, JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN, VENOM and DIAMOND HEAD were immediate influences in the group's direction. Within a short period of time, thrash metal in the forms of KREATOR, SODOM, DEATH, POSSESSED, SLAYER, and early METALLICA pumped up the tempo and ferocity.
With a secure lineup, MELTDOWN began relentless gigging and soon rose through the ranks to become one of the top metal bands in the greater Pittsburgh area. Throughout their travels the band has played in major cities such as New York and Los Angeles playing with the likes of TOXIC HOLOCAUST, ICARUS WITCH, DARK EMPIRE, TROUBLE, METAL CHURCH, MACABRE, SYMPHONY X, MUNICIPAL WASTE, MERCILESS DEATH, FUELED BY FIRE, and SKELETONWITCH.
Currently, MELTDOWN is planning the biggest step of its career so far — saying goodbye to the Steel City and relocating to Los Angeles. With the imminent move to the heart of the new thrash movement, and a hard-earned fanbase on the East Soast, the time is right for MELTDOWN to release its full-length debut, "Executioner".
