PLANET GEMINI: New Album To Feature Former BLACK SABBATH/DIO Drummer

Boston-based traditional doom metal band PLANET GEMINI, who recently tapped original TROUBLE drummer Jeff "Oly" Olson to play on its upcoming CD, has issued the following update:

"In a previous press release, PLANET GEMINI announced that they would be working with Jeff 'Oly' Olson. While this project is still on the bands agenda they have pushed the release date up to 2007.

"The project has somewhat morphed and has taken a whole new twist. We are very proud and extremely excited to announce that in 2007 PLANET GEMINI will be releasing an album entitled 'Legacy', which will in all actuality be two EPs put onto one CD. Half of the album will be the band playing with Jeff 'Oly' Olson and the other half will be the band playing with ex-BLACK SABBATH/DIO drummer Vinny Appice!

"We just got done talking with Vinny and he is 100% in! We can't even begin to express how excited we are to be working with two drummers of this caliber. If you sat down and asked us who some of our major influences are we would reply with BLACK SABBATH, DIO and TROUBLE. The fact that we are lucky enough to play with these legends who were instrumental in making some of the music that inspired us to become musicians is nothing short of a dream come true for us."

"Legacy" will mark the 10-year anniversary of the band and will feature 10 songs (five from each drummer) and will be split up so each drummer has his own section of the CD.

Commented vocalist/guitarist H (Hellion): "In my opinion, it speaks volumes about the metal community that icons such as this would find the time to work with an underground metal band. Oly is extremely busy with TROUBLE and his solo project he is working on and Vinny is currently touring with the HOLLYWOOD ALLSTARZ."
