POISON Drummer Becomes First-Time Father

Congratulations are in order for POISON drummer Rikki Rockett and his wife Melanie Martel on the birth of their first child, Jude Aaron Rockett (see photo below).

The baby boy was born July 14 at 4:31 a.m. He weighed in at seven pounds, four ounces and measured 21 inches long.

POISON is currently on tour with DEF LEPPARD and CHEAP TRICK.

Last year, Rockett was exonerated of a felony rape charge dating back to September 2007, because he wasn't in Mississippi when the incident is alleged to have taken place in the state.

The 47-year-old — whose real name is Richard Allan Ream — was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Neshoba County, Mississippi.

The charge was dropped in May 2008 after the Neshoba County District Attorney decided he did not believe Rockett had committed the crime.
