POISON's RIKKI ROCKETT To Speak At Puppy Awareness Event

September 12, 2006

POISON drummer Rikki Rockett (photo) will be one of many guest speakers at a prominent animal awareness conference known as Puppy Mill Awareness Day on September 16 at Intercourse Park in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The event is to help raise awareness of excessive cases of animal cruelty at puppy mills, as well as to educate the consumer regarding the connection between pet stores and puppy mills, and is also sponsored by other animal rights organizations such as Adopt A Pet and Last Chance For Animals (LCA). These groups are calling for the state of Pennsylvania to prohibit the arrival of new puppy mills, adequately monitor operations of current puppy mills in the state and to immediately close down any puppy mills that may be in violation of federal and state laws.

For more information on this event, visit www.awarenessday.org.
