Police Seeks Woman In BACKYARD BURIAL Singer Murder Case

April 21, 2011

According to Stuff.co.nz, the identity of the killer in the brutal murder of the lead singer of one of New Zealand's longest-running death metal bands, BACKYARD BURIAL, remains a mystery, despite an alleged confession from a man who is now dead.

Police are yet to close the Matthew Hall case — which they say hinges on finding an unidentified woman who spent Valentine's Day evening with the man who reportedly confessed.

The man, Timothy Parlane, was heard in his bedroom at his home with the woman around 11 p.m. the night before Hall was murdered.

Parlane allegedly told the woman he went to Hall's house with two knives and stabbed him.

BACKYARD BURIAL frontman Matthew John Hall, 35, who went by the stage name "Blaps Warmonger", was found dead with multiple stab wounds by his roommate at his Wellington apartment on February 15.

BACKYARD BURIAL released its debut album, titled "Symptoms Of Psychopathology", in 1999.
