POWER QUEST To Enter Studio Next Week

September 2, 2010

U.K-based metallers POWER QUEST will enter Foel Studios (PAUL RODGERS, NAPALM DEATH, THE WILDHEARTS) in Wales next week to begin recording their new album, "Blood Alliance", for an early 2011 release via Napalm Records. Ten songs will be laid down for the follow-up to 2008's "Master Of Illusion", including one bonus track, with the band planning to have recording wrapped up during the first week of October. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Rising Anew" and "Time To Burn".

Commented POWER QUEST mainman/keyboardist Steve Williams: "I don't actually ever recall being so excited about an album as I am about 'Blood Alliance'. I just can't wait for everyone to hear it!"

POWER QUEST in May announced the addition of vocalist Chitral "Chity" Somapala and guitarist Gavin Owen (of Welsh metallers TRIAXIS) to the group's ranks. The band stated at the time, "Chity is well known and highly regarded worldwide in the rock and metal scene and has recorded, toured and made guest appearances with the likes of AVALON, FARO, FIREWIND and RED CIRCUIT, as well as fronting his own band CIVILIZATION ONE. His unmistakable style has been compared favorably with Ronnie James Dio, Klaus Meine and Johnny Gioeli."

Commented Williams: "I'm thrilled to have recruited a vocalist and frontman of Chity's calibre. I've known Chity for a couple of years and we have often talked about working together and now we have that opportunity. We have already recorded three new songs with him and they just sound immense."

Regarding POWER QUEST's new guitarist, Williams said, "Gav's audition last weekend was of the highest standard and we were all very impressed by his playing and how he conducted himself throughout the process. There was an instant chemistry there between him and the rest of the guys and particularly with Andy which bodes well for the future."

POWER QUEST recently spent time at Aubitt Studios in Southampton with Rob Aubrey recording pre-production versions of three new songs — "Rising Anew", "Sacrifice" and "Time To Burn" — for the band's upcoming CD.

POWER QUEST in March parted ways with singer Pete Morten and guitarist Ben Randall due to "musical differences."

POWER QUEST's latest album, "Master of Illusion", was released in 2008 via Napalm Records/Avalon Marquee (Japan). Guest musicians on the CD include keyboardist Richard West from the U.K. progressive metal band THRESHOLD, Jorn Viggo Lofstad from the Norwegian power metal act PAGAN'S MIND and FOURWAYKILL singer Chris Neighbour.
