Previously Unreleased Song Featuring DIMEBAG, PHILIP ANSELMO, SEAN YSEULT Posted Online

July 19, 2011

A previously unreleased song, "Dawn Of The Horrible Gorilla!", which was recorded on tour in 1992 by then-WHITE ZOMBIE bassist Sean Yseult and PANTERA members "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott (guitar) and Philip Anselmo (vocals) has been uploaded to Yseult's SoundCloud page.

A description of the song reads as follows: "Dimebag Darrell, Sean Yseult and Philip Anselmo created this absurdity at 6 a.m. after a long night of drinking on a PANTERA/WHITE ZOMBIE tour in '92. Recorded on Darrell's four-track in his hotel room, the song was made up on the spot with Darrell on guitar (and drum machine) Sean on bass, and Phil singing. This comes from a cassette from Sean Yseult's archives, never heard before!"

Yseult last year released a book, "I'm In The Band - Backstage Notes From The Chick In White Zombie", which featured quite a few PANTERA tour mementos.

When asked by Tom Trakas of the None But My Own blog if she ever had a chance to release a statement, either something personal or on WHITE ZOMBIE's behalf, following Dimebag's murder in 2004, Sean said, "I went to [Dimebag's] funeral, and Rita had asked me to go up and tell a story or something (long pause) but I didn't have the heart to. It was really, really upsetting I don't know, just so senseless and so terrible. You know some people, when I think back about them like Kurt Cobain and others; I can't even listen to the music. But when I hear PANTERA, it makes me happy, you know? Darrell was such a good soul [and a] great person with such good energy it feels like he's still here, not to sound corny. It's hard to put into words because it's not like he took his own life or OD'd or something, but it was sudden and I only think of good things when I think of Darrell."
