PRIEST, Featuring Former Members Of GHOST, Announces New Album 'Altered State Police', Shares 'Python' Single

Swedish dark synthpop act PRIEST has released "Python", the first single from the band's upcoming fifth studio album, "Altered State Police", due on October 23 via Blue Nine.

For PRIEST, surveillance is no longer science fiction — it's the soundtrack of everyday life.

Driven by relentless electronics, industrial textures and flashes of '90s big beat, "Python" coils around the listener like the invisible systems it confronts. The track transforms digital surveillance into a dystopian dancefloor anthem, where every beat echoes the quiet acceptance of life under constant observation.

"Terms accepted. Surveillance initiated. Facial data: stored. Iris response: logged. Voice patterns: catalogued. You are now a consumer profile. Thank you for agreeing."

Containing former members of GHOST, PRIEST has carved out a distinctive world of its own, blending dark synthpop, gothic soundscapes and futuristic memorabilia into music rooted in what the band calls "the vastness of electric dreams." With millions of streams, praised global tours and critically acclaimed releases including "New Flesh", "Dark Pulse" and "Body Machine", PRIEST continues to build an ever-growing international following through both their cinematic sound and thought-provoking themes.

More than a collection of songs, "Altered State Police" is conceived as an immersive listening experience. PRIEST, which has been releasing music since 2017, consists of vocalist Mercury (Linton Rubino, who previously played bass as the "Nameless Ghoul" Water in GHOST),keyboardist Salt (formerly known as GHOST keyboardist Air) and programmer/keyboardist Sulfur.
