July 24, 2008German power metallers PRIMAL FEAR have been forced to cancel their July 27 appearance at the Alcatraz festival in Brielpoort, Belgium after they were informed by the local promoter that he can't pay their fee.
The promoter's official statement reads as follows: "Unfortunately we are forced to pull out PRIMAL FEAR from the lineup for the upcoming festival next Sunday. Due to the minor pre-sales we have to cancel their show regarding our financial situation! Herewith we would like to inform everyone that the management nor the band has anything to do with our decision. We also would like to apologize to the band for this modification and hope to make it up one day. We are very sorry for the fans that would attend the festival for PRIMAL FEAR and hope they understand our situation."
PRIMAL FEAR has set "16.6" as the working title of the follow-up to last year's "New Religion" album. The CD will be recorded in November/December 2008 for a tentative early 2009 release via Frontiers Records.
"New Religion" last year landed on the Swedish chart at No. 67. It also entered the German chart at No. 60.
The CD was released in the U.S. on January 29 via Locomotive/Ryko. Guest musicians on the album include Kai Hansen (GAMMA RAY, ex-HELLOWEEN) and Simone Simons (EPICA).
