PRIMORDIAL Frontman Interviewed In Montreal; Video Available

May 4, 2009

HardTimes.ca conducted an interview with vocalist Alan "Nemtheanga" Averill of the of the Irish dark metal masters PRIMORDIAL at the Montreal, Quebec, Canada stop of this year's Paganfest USA Part 2 tour on April 29 at Le Medley. Watch the 15-minute chat below.

2008 was a great year for PRIMORDIAL. After the release of their magnum opus, "To The Nameless Dead", in late 2007, the band played shows and festivals all over Europe and gained loads of new fans.

PRIMORDIAL reissued its debut album, "Imrama", in March via Metal Blade Records. Recorded in late 1994 and originally released by Cacophonous Records in the autumn of 1995, it already displayed the band's sense for overwhelming melodies, epic drama and total commitment, wrapped in a raw sound with a much stronger black metal influence than is apparent in the band's more recent output. The reissue comes as a double CD, including the remastered album plus unreleased demos and live recordings, packaged in a precious black linen slipcase with glossy golden hot foil print, containing a six-page digipak with the original artwork, the two CDs and a 16-page booklet with new liner notes and additional photos.
