Producer ANDY SNEAP: MEGADETH's MUSTAINE 'Proved To Be A Very Cool Guy To Work With'

December 25, 2006

British producer extraordinaire (and former SABBAT guitarist) Andy "Undie" Sneap has posted the following message on his official web site:

"Well, 2006 is up, and since June it has been pretty relentless. Working on the CRADLE OF FILTH album ['Thornography'] was actually really refreshing, not what I expected to be honest. This of course, led to the SABBAT reunion [featuring Sneap on guitar] — four shows (three with CRADLE) that we've just completed. Again, this was a lot fun, but not something we are looking at on a full-time basis. There will hopefully be a few festivals next year, Keep it True [festival in Germany] already being confirmed, but no talk of a new album, though we filmed a lot of the shows and we are re-releasing 'History of a Time to Come' [1988] and 'Dreamweaver' [1989] with bonus material. I also ended up in Cleveland, working with the CHIMAIRA guys on their new album, 'Resurrection'. Mr. Hunter [CHIMAIRA vocalist Mark Hunter] was on fine form — extremely heavy. This will be one of the heaviest releases of 2007. Another highlight for me this year was working on the new MEGADETH album, 'United Abominations', in San Diego for most of November. Dave [Mustaine] proved to be a very cool guy to work with, as did Shawn [Drover], Glen [Drover] and James [Lomenzo]. We've got a few more vocals and solos to work on at the start of 2007 and then we should be able to get this beast mixed and in the bag for a March/April release.

"So I'm just finishing off the mix for DEW-SCENTED right now, back to MEGADETH, then JOB FOR A COWBOY, DESPISED ICON, AS I LAY DYING and TESTAMENT… the latter I'm really looking forward to, with my old friend Nick Barker [ex-CRADLE OF FILTH, DIMMU BORGIR] on drums. Plenty of other things in the pipeline also, but I'll let you know about those as they get confirmed."

A short video clip of SABBAT being interviewed and rehearsing for their recent U.K. tour dates has been posted online at YouTube.com. A Quicktime version can be found at this location.
