PROTEST THE HERO Releases Guitar Tab Book For 'Kezia'

August 9, 2010

Guitarists Luke Hoskin and Tim Millar from Canadian metal band PROTEST THE HERO recently created a guitar tab book for their 2008 chart-topping album "Fortress" and have now completed another for their 2006 debut album, "Kezia". The spiral bound book includes transcriptions for each of the ten songs on "Kezia" and an introduction — all written exclusively by the band members.

The guitarists commented, "Better late than never! If you liked playing along with the Fortress guitar book, you will find this just as challenging...maybe even more so since we suffered higher attention deficit issues back then."

The band is currently selling the books through their own tab book publishing company. They are also giving away a brand new Ibanez S guitar along with other prizes.

PROTEST THE HERO will begin recording its third full-length album at the end of August. The band will once again be working with producer Julius "Juice" Butty at both Jukasa Studios and Silo Recording Studio. The record will be mixed by producer/engineer Machine for an early 2011 release.

PROTEST THE HERO's sophomore album, "Fortress" came out on January 29, 2008. The band has previously stated that "Fortress" does not revolve around a single concept, like "Kezia", its 2006 debut, but is instead more closely akin to "goddess worship in the tradition of Robert Graves."

PROTEST THE HERO released a live CD/DVD titled "Gallop Meets The Earth" in August 2009 via Underground Operations/Universal Music Canada and Vagrant Records in the U.S. The disc includes footage of the band's December 18, 2008 concert at the Sound Academy in Toronto and a number of bonus features.
