PROUD PROMOTIONS Brings Heavy Metal To China

April 24, 2006

Proud Promotions of Hong Kong has announced that they will be releasing music compilations of several genres — including heavy metal — into Hong Kong, Taiwan and mainland China. These releases will be part of an approved cultural exchange program that Proud Promotions has arranged with the Chinese government.

As part of their initial campaign, Proud Promotions will be sending compilation CDs in English representing pop, rock, country and metal music to both government-run and independent radio in Hong Kong, Taiwan and mainland China.

For this venture, Proud Promotions will be placing liner notes in Mandarin with the CDs to assist program directors in promoting the bands. Each CD will also contain audio announcements in both Mandarin and English on the CDs before each song, stating the song's title and the name of the band performing the song along with a short history of the act.

SALEM'S WYCH, known for being one of the initial '80s bands to usher in the thrash and power metal music movement, have been chosen by Proud Promotions to be the first metal band to be placed on their compilation CD, which is set for release in May of 2006. Proud Promotions will also be working with retailers in Hong Kong, Taiwan and mainland China to bring rock band t-shirts, CDs and pop culture items to market, branded in both English and Mandarin.

Bands interested in being included on future Proud Promotions compilation CDs can write to: [email protected] (attention: Hung Park).
