February 7, 2008

New York's PSYCHOMANTHIUM, which features former and current members of NEGLECT, ARKHAM 13 and SHALLOWS OF THE MUNDANE, has inked a deal with No Joke Records. The group's debut album, "Blueprint for Murder", will be released on July 1.

"Blueprint for Murder" track listing:

01. Ravenous
02. Cast Out
03. Reborn From Darkness
04. Till I Bleed
05. Blueprint for Murder
06. 40 Days
07. The Confession
08. Bloodshed
09. Tree of Woe
10. Evil Dead
11. Virulent Disention
12. From the Shadows
13. The Zero Hour
14. Enter the Psychomanthium

A video for the track "Ravenous" will feature live footage from the band's March 16 show in Long Island, NY.

Commented guitarist/co-founder Derek Schilling (NEGLECT, ARKHAM 13): "The way I would describe our sound is nothing trendy, nothing 'nu,' no Americanized versions of Swedish guitar riffs, no super double-bass and grinds everywhere and definitely nothing 'emo.' Just killer, heavy in-your-face, hardcore/metal bringing back what was lost from the old-school metal/hardcore scenes."

You can listen to the demo version of "Ravenous" and several other tracks via the band's MySpace page.

PSYCHOMANTHIUM will hit the road in the summer in support of "Blueprint for Murder" and is currently scheduling several East Coast dates in preparation.

According to a press release, "the PSYCHOMANTHIUM sound blends a deadly concoction of metal and hardcore that bridges the gap between modern and old-school metalhead logic and satisfies both parties with skull crunching riffs and growls that have stood the test of time and will continue to in 2008."
