Guitarist Joe Haley of Tasmanian tech-death masters PSYCROPTIC was recently interviewed for FPE-TV. In the 28-minute clip, which can be viewed below, he explains his technique, songwriting process, gear setup, and hybrid picking, among other things. The guitar-lesson segment starts around the nine-minute mark. Performances of songs from their Nuclear Blast debut, "Ob(Servant", including the title track (19:40) and "Horde in Devolution" (23:03),are also featured.

PSYCROPTIC is currently on tour with reunited melodic/death/gore-grind legends CARCASS, along with SUICIDE SILENCE and SAMAEL. Following the trek, the band will immediately join the "Blood Apocalypse" tour with SUFFOCATION, WHITECHAPEL, DECREPIT BIRTH, and VEIL OF MAYA.

"Ob(Servant)" was released in Europe on September 26 and in North America on October 14 via Nuclear Blast Records. The follow-up to 2006's "Symbols of Failure" was mixed and mastered by former MACHINE HEAD and SOULFLY guitarist Logan Mader (DIVINE HERESY, GOJIRA) and was recorded once again by guitarist Joe Haley. The album includes a free bonus DVD featuring a studio diary as well as performance footage from a 2006 gig in Amsterdam, Netherlands and 2008 concert in Wellington, New Zealand. The free bonus DVD runs approximately 85 minutes.
