PSYOPUS: 'Odd Senses' First-Week U.S. Sales Revealed
February 25, 2009"Odd Senses", the new album from the Rochester, New York-based tech grindcore/hardcore outfit PSYOPUS, sold around 800 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD debuted at No. 90 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

As previously reported, PSYOPUS has tapped bassist Brent Glover (BELLICIST, ex-RECIPROCAL) as the temporary replacement for Michael Horn, who reportedly quit the band in January.
PSYOPUS last year announced the addition of singer Brian Woodruff (AS THIS BODY, I EXIST) to the group's ranks.
The band's new album was recorded between July 20 and August 16 with engineer Doug White at Watchmen Studios in Lockport, New York.
