QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE Frontman On DAVE GROHL: 'He Makes It Great'

April 10, 2013

According to The Pulse Of Radio, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE frontman Josh Homme has spoken to BBC Radio 1 about having Dave Grohl play drums on the new QUEENS album, "…Like Clockwork". Homme said about Grohl, who also played all the drums on the 2002 QUEENS CD "Songs For The Deaf", "I have a special relationship with Dave. I've known him since I was 19. He makes something good, great. If something's mediocre he makes it great."

Grohl and Homme also played together in 2009 and 2010 with LED ZEPPELIN bassist John Paul Jones in the band THEM CROOKED VULTURES.

Grohl did not play all the drums on the new QUEENS record, but contributed to selected tracks. Other guests on the disc include Trent Reznor, Elton John and Alex Turner of ARCTIC MONKEYS.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE have set June 4 as the release date for "…Like Clockwork". The first single from the album, called "My God Is The Sun", arrived on Monday (April 8).

The band's only scheduled U.S. live date as of this moment is August 2 at Chicago's Grant Park as part of Lollapalooza.
