QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE: New Album To Feature Horn Section
September 25, 2004The QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE web site recently posted a picture of the group's frontman, Josh Homme, conducting a horn section, presumably for the band`s forthcoming follow-up to "Songs for the Deaf".
When asked "Why horns?", Homme replied, "Do you know how heavy and intense it is to be in the presence of three or four tubas yelling at once?"
QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE's new album is tentatively scheduled for release in early 2005 via Interscope Records. The group's first album since the departure of bassist Nick Oliveri is expected to include guest appearances by ZZ TOP guitarist Billy F. Gibbons, GARBAGE frontwoman Shirley Manson and the DISTILLERS' Brody Dalle. ELEVEN's Alain Johannes is believed to be playing bass during the sessions.
