QUEENSRŸCHE To Play Special 'Operation: Mindcrime' Set In Spain

October 16, 2007

According to Rafabasa.com, QUEENSRŸCHE has come up with a special setlist for the group's upcoming shows in Spain, which are scheduled to take place in November.

The band last played in Spain in August when they performed a one-off show in Madrid. At that concert, QUEENSRŸCHE's setlist spanned the group's entire career.

This time around QUEENSRŸCHE will focus on the "Operation: Mindcrime I" and "II" material and will utilize the services of Pamela Moore — the voice of "Sister Mary" on the "Mindcrime" albums — who will travel with the group for the Spanish gigs.

QUEENSRŸCHE's projected setlist for the Spanish shows:

01. Revolution Calling
02. Operation: Mindcrime
03. Spreading The Disease
04. Suite Sister Mary
05. The Needle Lies
06. I Don't Believe In Love
07. I'm American
08. One Foot In Hell
09. Hostage
10. The Hands
11. Signs Say Go
12. Murderer
13. If I Could Change It All
14. An Intentional Confrontation
15. Eyes Of A Stranger
-------------------------
16. Empire
17. Jet City Woman
18. Queen Of The Ryche

QUEENSRŸCHE's Spanish tour dates:

Nov. 15 - La Riviera - Madrid, Spain
Nov. 16 - Santana 27 - Bilbao, Spain
Nov. 17 - Sala Razzmatazz - Barcelona, Spain

QUEENSRŸCHE's cover of PINK FLOYD's "Welcome to the Machine", the first single from the band's new album, "Take Cover", has just been released via iTunes.

QUEENSRŸCHE will pay homage to some of its musical idols on "Take Cover", a covers album due Nov. 13 via Rhino. The Seattle group is putting its stamp on such numbers as "Welcome to the Machine", U2's "Bullet the Blue Sky" and PETER GABRIEL's "Red Rain".

QUEENSRŸCHE has only released a few covers, one of them being a powerful interpretation of "Scarborough Fair" in the early 1990s. According to Billboard.com, some of the 11 selections naturally fit the band's progressive rock influences, particularly PINK FLOYD and "Innuendo" by QUEEN, one of Tate's favorite bands. Others will definitely raise eyebrows. The group is giving Broadway a spin by performing "Heaven on Their Minds" from "Jesus Christ Superstar", as well as the O'JAYS' R&B classic "For Love of Money", the operatic "Odissea" by Italian duo CARLO MARRALE AND CHEOPE and an acoustic version of BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD's "For What It's Worth".

QUEENSRŸCHE frontman Geoff Tate will be the featured guest on the nationally syndicated radio show "Rockline", hosted by Bob Coburn, airing Wednesday, November 7 at 11:30 p.m. EST/8:30 p.m. PST. Fans can talk live with Geoff by calling 800-344-ROCK (7625). To find a station near you or to listen to the show live via the Internet, go to www.rocklineradio.com.
