QUIET RIOT Drummer Offers Track-By-Track Rundown Of New Album
October 1, 2006QUIET RIOT drummer Frankie Banali recently gave a track-by-track rundown of the band's new album, "Rehab" to Classic Rock Revisited.
Commented Banali: "The writing process for these recordings differed greatly from our previous efforts in that Kevin [Dubrow, vocals] and I approached the writing of new songs in tandem but initially independent of each other. We have always wanted to tap into our British late '60s and '70s influences. At the same time we tried to go into fresh areas we had not gone before. It's a fairly eclectic representation of where Kevin and I wanted QUIET RIOT to be musically at this point in time. We also individually worked with other songwriters as well as enlisting the services of studio guitarist Neil Citron, the incomparable bassist Mr. Tony Franklin and the talented services of Glenn Hughes for a vocal duet with Kevin, as well as playing bass on that track. These recordings are something that we are overall very pleased with and hope the listener will enjoy it as well. If I had to put a moniker on this record it might just be 'new retro!'"
