RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE Playing Only Midwest Show On Friday
August 24, 2007The Pulse of Radio (formerly Launch Radio Networks) reports: RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE makes its first non-festival appearance since reuniting earlier this year on Friday night (August 24) at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wisconsin. This is the band's only scheduled date in the Midwest so far and its first concert since closing the Coachella festival back in April and performing at three dates this summer on the Rock The Bells package tour. The group's only other confirmed show until the end of the year is the Vegoose Music Festival on October 27 and October 28 in Las Vegas.
While there's no other RAGE shows announced at the moment, more are possible.
Guitarist Tom Morello told The Pulse of Radio that his main motivation for playing with RAGE and as solo folk act THE NIGHTWATCHMAN is to try and change the direction of the country. "I need to add my voice and what I do best, which is play guitar, you know," he said. "I need to be another link in the chain to start turning this thing around. You know, as the great historian Howard Zinn says, you can't be neutral on a moving train, and this train's moving in the wrong direction. And it's not time to be sitting in the dining car sipping martinis, it's time to be mugging the conductor."
RAGE announced that it was reassembling for selected live shows earlier this year, and has no current plans to record a new album.
