RAMONES: 'Raw' DVD Certified Gold In The U.K.

March 7, 2005

The RAMONES "Raw" DVD has been certified gold in the U.K. by the BPI (the British equivalent of the RIAA in the U.S.). "Raw" was previously awarded certified gold in the U.S. in December 2004 and has the honor of being the RAMONES' highest Billboard-charting release ever.

Commented Marky Ramone: "We'd like to thank RAMONES fans everywhere for their support of 'Raw' and helping to keep the RAMONES legacy alive."

Not only is "Raw" the first RAMONES video or DVD release to ever be certified gold in the U.S., it is also the second gold-certified release the world-famous RAMONES have ever received in North America throughout the duration of their legendary 30-year history. The only prior release in the RAMONES entire catalog to reach certified gold status was the best-of double LP compilation, entitled "Ramonesmania", released in 1988.
