'Ramones Raw' Wins At Inaugural MUSIC DVD AWARDS

Executive producer Marky Ramone and producer/director John Cafiero have received further honors for their achievements as the definitive RAMONES DVD, "Ramones Raw", has been awarded for "Best Special Features/Bonus Materials" in the first-ever Music DVD Awards.

The DVD "Ramones Raw" was previously awarded with gold certification by the RIAA shortly after its Billboard debut at #5 and three consecutive weeks on Billboard's Top 40, marking the RAMONES' highest Billboard chart position ever in the course of their historic career.

The first-ever Music DVD Awards, were presented on March 29 in Century City, California. Seven music DVDs were honored at the awards, established by Home Media Retailing magazine to recognize achievements in the fast-growing music DVD market. The winners were chosen from more than 130 entries submitted by the record companies and music DVD distributors. A panel of critics from Home Media Retailing, USA Today and other publications selected the seven winners:

Best of Show: "Concert for George Harrison"
Best Concert Video: "Live Aid"
Best Compilation: "Director's Label Box Set"
Best Documentary: "Dig!"
Best Music Feature: "The Rolling Stones: Rock & Roll Circus"
Best Special Features/Bonus Materials: "Ramones Raw"
Best Catalog Title: "The Who: The Kids Are Alright"

The Music DVD Awards were part of the inaugural Music DVD Conference, produced by Home Media Retailing in cooperation with DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group, The Hollywood Reporter and the Video Software Dealers Association. The conference attracted top executives from major record labels, key independent record companies, major music retailers from around the country, key members of the music press and other industry leaders.
