Rare KURT COBAIN Memorabilia Up For Sale
November 15, 2007MTV.com reports that some rare Kurt Cobain memorabilia is up for sale on Craigslist. A seller claims to have gotten hold of four original, signed drawings the late NIRVANA frontman made in high school, and he's selling them for $10,000 each, according to Harp magazine. The classified ad reads, "I have four original and signed drawings by Kurt Cobain. Various sizes, mostly Fender guitar-related subject matter. These were done when Kurt was in high school in the 1980s. Quite rare and unusual."
AS previously reported, NIRVANA's music has been licensed for use in the upcoming film biography Kurt Cobain, making it the first movie to ever feature the group's songs. According to NME.com, Universal Pictures' deal for the rights to the Cobain biography "Heavier Than Heaven" also included the rights to NIRVANA's catalog. "Heavier Than Heaven" author Charles Cross said, "(Cobain's widow) Courtney Love has packaged my book rights with NIRVANA's music. It's important, as for it to be a definitive Kurt biopic you need the music."
Love is listed as an executive producer on the film, which was recently announced as a Universal release.
Scottish actor James McAvoy is reportedly up for the part of Cobain. McAvoy is best known for roles in "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" and "The Last King of Scotland".
A film called "Kurt Cobain: About A Son", in which images of the places where Cobain lived are set to actual recordings of his voice, is currently playing in limited release. A 2005 film called "Last Days" featured Michael Pitt as a dissolute rock star loosely based on Cobain.
