Rare NIRVANA Concert To Be Broadcast Ahead Of Release
September 16, 2011The previously unreleased NIRVANA concert film "Live At The Paramount" will be televised on Friday, September 23 at 11:00 p.m. ET on VH1, with the hour-long show being simulcast on VH1 Classic and Palladia. The broadcast will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the release of NIRVANA's landmark 1991 album, "Nevermind". The concert, shot at the Paramount Theater in Seattle on Halloween in 1991, features performances of several songs from "Nevermind", plus non-album cuts "Sliver" and "Aneurysm" along with a cover of THE VASELINES' "Jesus Doesn't Want Me For a Sunbeam".
"Nirvana: Live At The Paramount" will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on September 27, the same day as the 20th anniversary reissue of "Nevermind".
The deluxe edition of the "Nevermind" reissue will contain the "Live At The Paramount" show as part of the package, which also features studio and live B-sides, recordings from the BBC, music videos, a previously unreleased alternate mix of the album and a 90-page book.
A new website, Nevermind 20, has also launched to celebrate the 20th anniversary of "Nevermind". The site will allow fans to upload photos and memorabilia, as well as share their memories of the album.
