According to a posting on RATT singer Stephen Pearcy's MySpace page, he and RATT guitarist and Warren DeMartini have started writing material for the band's next album, tentatively due in early 2009.
Following weeks of rumors and speculation, RATT drummer Bobby Blotzer recently confirmed that former QUIET RIOT guitarist Carlos Cavazo has joined the group as the replacement for rhythm guitarist John Corabi (former MÖTLEY CRÜE singer). According to Blotzer, "we have been rehearsing with Carlos and it sounds pretty freakin cool."
Carlos played his first show with the band in Baton Rouge, Lousiana on August 27. Corabi will make one last appearance with RATT on September 5 in Virginia Beach.
Fan-filmed video footage of RATT's August 28, 2008 performance at the House of Blues in New Orleans, Louisiana can be viewed below (clips uploaded by YouTube user "Pepskins").
RATT celebrated the "Year Of The Ratt" with a very special West Coast U.S. run of dates in April. In honor of their Southern California roots, the band embarked on a four-show mini-tour to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the "Ratt" EP.
RATT recently performed the entire EP along with other RATT faves live on the nationally syndicated radio show "Rockline" to an overwhelming response. Host Bob Coburn expressed that he was "totally blown away" by RATT and that they "flat-out kicked ass" as they delivered one of the best shows in the 27 years of "Rockline".
