RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS And DAVE GROHL To Perform At Silverlake Conservatory Of Music's 25th-Anniversary Benefit Concert

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, Dave Grohl and Vince Staples are among the artists who will perform during Silverlake Conservatory Of Music's (SCM) 25th-anniversary benefit concert on October 17 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, California.

The upcoming anniversary event marks a significant year for Silverlake Conservatory Of Music, commemorating a quarter century of bringing music education to the Los Angeles community. Founded in 2001 by award-winning musicians Michael "Flea" Balzary and Keith "Tree" Barry with the help of their longtime friend Peter Weiss, SCM fills the gaps in music education programming throughout L.A. public schools and provides music lessons to over 900 students per week. SCM's thriving scholarship program serves over 200 students whose families cannot afford music lessons, offering free lessons, instruments, supplies, ensemble classes and events.

Each year, SCM hosts a private benefit evening that aims to raise the $1.5M needed to sustain its music programming for the year. Past benefit headliners have included RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, Patti Smith, Eddie Vedder, Neil Young, KD Lang, Bruno Mars, John Legend, Beck, Kamasi Washington and Tracy Chapman, among many other incredible musicians.

To mark this year's momentous 25th anniversary, and in lieu of a private benefit dinner, SCM is hosting its annual birthday party at the Hollywood Palladium, promising a star-studded celebration honoring the people who make up the heart and soul of the music school and the L.A. community it both serves and holds dear.

Silverlake Conservatory Of Music is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to facilitate a dynamic music education and to teach beginning and accomplished musicians of all skill levels. SCM's primary focus is on the youth of the community, but all are welcome and encouraged to participate. SCM offers private music lessons on all orchestral and band instruments including voice, as well as a variety of ensemble classes at a reasonable cost. In addition, Silverlake Conservatory Of Music provides scholarships to children who qualify whose families would otherwise be unable to afford lessons. Through a variety of sources including personal contributions, corporate contributions, musical instrument donation and in-house fundraising activities, the Conservatory has maintained a strong roster of talented and committed future musicians, addressing the decrease in arts education in Los Angeles schools while providing cultural enrichment to the community at large. SCM's goal is to keep its standard of teaching at the highest level while maintaining a friendly, fun and nurturing environment. The study of music enriches not only the lives of the student and teacher, but the community and society as well.
