RED RIVER REVIVAL Pulls Out Of 'Thrash And Burn Tour'

May 15, 2009

RED RIVER REVIVAL, the new band featuring former members of SUPERJOINT RITUAL and ARTIMUS PYLEDRIVER, has pulled out of the DEVILDRIVER-headlined second annual Thrash And Burn Tour, which is set to run from July 24 through August 30, 2009. The group says, "We would like to thank Dez Fafara [DEVILDRIVER] for the opportunity, however it is in our best interest to work on our debut record. We will head to New Orleans in August to record with Phillip H. Anselmo [DOWN/ex-PANTERA singer and head of Housecore Records]. Phillip will serve as producer and guiding spirit. Look for a a New Year's release on Housecore Records."

RED RIVER REVIVAL played a show at Big Daddy's in Tallahassee, Florida on Friday, May 1, 2009. The entire performance is now available for viewing from Revilution Television. One of the tracks can be seen below.

RED RIVER REVIVAL recently announced the addition of three new members (presently only known by their first names): Joey, Brad and Miles. According to vocalist D Wayne Slocum (ex-ARTIMUS PYLEDRIVER),"These guys came in and killed it."

In a 2008 interview with Nonelouder, Slocum stated about the band's sound, "RED RIVER REVIVAL is boogie rock! Lots of melody and soul, preachin' and hollerin'. Heavy blues is what I think best describes us. Kevin Bond has written some really cool stuff, very ZZ TOP. Kevin didn't write any of the SUPERJOINT stuff, so I think people will be surprised to hear what style he actually represents. People are already saying that RED RIVER REVIVAL is better than ARTIMUS."
