REIGN OF EREBUS Split With BLACKEND RECORDS
September 28, 2004England's extreme black metal band REIGN OF EREBUS have terminated their contract with Blackend Records/PHD. After mounting tension and frustration towards the company, the band chose to exercise their right to request to be released from the label's roster, according to a press release. REIGN OF EREBUS are now in the midst of writing and pre-production of the follow-up to the acclaimed "Inversion Principle" album.
Commented REIGN OF EREBUS guitarist Crucem: "Even though we had two more albums left on our contract, we felt that for us to be able to progress in the direction we desire, we would have to leave Blackend. We have had a long-standing problem with communication, promotion, distibution and personal ideals, and it was something that we felt could not go on any longer. We will now strive to find the correct partnership that will aid us in our direction — which, judging by the new sounds emanating from our studio, is going to be fucking vicious! Dark and harsh as hell itself!"
Expect an announcement on the band's official web site with regards to the next album's release and future label.
