Report: 'The Black Metal Group' Does Not Exist In Malaysia's Perak State
April 17, 2006Malaysian national news agency Bernama.com is reporting that the so-called "The Black Metal Group" does not exist in Perak, Malasyia, the state legislative assembly was told Monday (April 17).
Nevertheless, the state religious department, police, Rela and other agencies would monitor the situation from time to time, said State Executive Councillor for Culture, Arts and Heritage Datuk Mohd Zaim Abu Hassan.
The religious department also held information sessions like sermons, talks, forums and discussions with mosque committees on the negative influences of the group, he said when replying to Rosli Husin (BN-Trong) during question time.
"The Black Metal Group", believed to be active in northern Peninsular Malaysia, among others, "promotes worshipping of the Satan, free sex, desecrates the Holy Quran and black metal music either through cassette or compact discs," according to the Bernama.com report.
It is said to have many followers, especially students in rural areas.
