Report: VINCE NEIL Was Suspect In Camera-Smashing Incident Before DUI Arrest
June 28, 2010According to TMZ.com, the Las Vegas Police Department was looking for MÖTLEY CRÜE frontman Vince Neil before his DUI arrest last night (June 27) — because he was a suspect in a camera-smashing incident earlier in the evening.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ.com that a woman told police Neil had grabbed her camera and smashed it after she took his picture sometime last night. Cops went looking for Neil to question him about the incident — and a short time later, officers spotted Neil's car and pulled him over, subsequently arresting him on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
TMZ.com spoke to Neil's wife Lia who stated that the singer had been sober for three years.
Neil lives in Las Vegas, where he has tattoo shops and the Vince Neil Tres Rios Cantina at the Las Vegas Hilton.
Vince was sentenced to 30 days in jail and five years' probation after an accident in 1984 in which Neil also was driving under the influence. That crash caused the death of Neil's passenger, HANOI ROCKS drummer Nicholas "Razzle" Dingley.
Vince Neil's tell-all book "Tattoos & Tequila", will be released on September 23 via New York's Grand Central Publishing.
Neil has just released his new solo CD, also titled "Tattoos & Tequila" (Eleven Seven Music). It is a compilation of genre-defining hits that have been given the Vince Neil rock renewal treatment.
