Representative: Ex-DEATH/CYNIC Guitarist's Appearance On ILLEGIMITATION CD Not Yet Confirmed

March 17, 2004

Contrary to published reports, former DEATH/CYNIC guitarist Paul Masvidal has not yet confirmed his guest appearance on the debut album from German black/death metallers ILLEGIMITATION. "Paul has never committed to do [the ILLEGIMITATION] record," a representative for Masvidal, Eric Greif, Esq., told BLABBERMOUTH.NET. "He merely said they could send him a CD and he would listen to it. That's it — non-committal at its most diplomatic — but suddenly it is all over the net that it is a scheduled, reality thing."

According to Greif, Masvidal will be traveling to London in three weeks with his current band, AEON SPOKE (also featuring Paul's ex-DEATH/CYNIC bandmate Sean Reinert on drums) to perform several high-profile showcases, one of which was organized by ASCAP. In addition, the band are currently working their song "Silence" as a single and "Emanuel" as a video (Windows Media). Also tentatively planned for release is a remastered edition of CYNIC's "Focus" (originally released in 1993 through Roadrunner Records),featuring demo and PORTAL (post-CYNIC) bonus tracks. More information will be made available soon.
