RESURRECTION Completes Work On New EP

Former Nuclear Blast recording artists RESURRECTION, who had moderate success with their debut album "Embalmed Existence" (1993),have finished recording a new four-song EP. The tracks "Ritual Slaughter", "Coward", "Unholy", and "Death By Desire" mark the first new recordings from the group since it disbanded in 1996. The new disc was recorded in Tampa throughout the month of December at Red Room Recorders with veteran Morrisound studios engineer Mark Prator at the production helm and will shortly be available for preview at the band's web site or through its MySpace page.

RESURRECTION is currently shopping the new disc to interested record labels with the hope of having the EP released in early 2007. A new full-length record — along with a remix and re-release of the "Embalmed Existence" album — will follow shortly thereafter.

Commented founding member and guitarist John Astl, "The disc is heavy, well-executed and well-written, and will hold its own with anything that we have written in the past as well as anything on the market today. We feel strongly that the metal community will embrace this effort as well as our fans who have waited a very long time for this."

Drummer Kevin Astl added: "We've spent a lot of time crafting these songs. We have an experienced set of musicians, a great bass player in Scott Patrick (COUNCIL OF THE FALLEN),Paul DeGolyer's vocals drip with aggression and venom, and we have been very cognizant of progressive and catchy song structures. In my opinion, this is the best stuff RESURRECTION has recorded, and we feel strongly that lovers of heavy extreme music will enjoy it."
