Reunited EXTREME To Play At New York City Benefit Concert

The original lineup of EXTREME will reunite for a benefit concert and auction in New York City in honor of music manager Steven Hoffman. Hoffman, who worked with RUSH, VAN HALEN and EXTREME, died of lung cancer in 2003. The event will take place on May 18 at the 450-capacity Canal Room, 285 West Broadway, NYC from 7:00 to 10:30 p.m. Other bands scheduled to play at the event include EVOLUTION (the ultimate JOURNEY tribute band),VALENTINE and "All-Star Rock Jam" (featuring BLACK LABEL SOCIETY bassist John "J.D." DeServio, among others). A live and silent auction will also be held to raise money for lung cancer research. Some of the items to be auctioned off include an autographed Nuno Bettencourt Washburn guitar, an autographed Geddy Lee bass and other great and rare rock n' roll memorabilia.

Steven Hoffman was born in New York, but spent the last 10 years of his life living in Toronto, where he worked for SRO Management, longtime managers of RUSH and at the time THE TEA PARTY, MATTHEW GOOD and TODD KERNS, according to JAM! Music. Hoffman was 38 when he passed away three years ago at Toronto's Princess Margaret Hospital of non-small cell lung cancer. His funeral in Long Island was standing room only and featured a beautiful acoustic performance of "More Than Words" by EXTREME's Gary Charone and Nuno Bettencourt.
