REVEREND Announce New Singer

June 17, 2006

The surviving members of REVEREND, the band which had previously featured the late frontman David Wayne (ex-METAL CHURCH),have announced the addition of singer Michael Lance to the group's ranks.

Michael Lance is no stranger to the metal scene. Raised in San Antonio Texas, Michael began his vocal career in 1984 fronting for the band MAUSOLEUM while also working under vocal legend Gilbert "Buster" Grant of WYZARD, RITUAL, BLIND DATE, and SNAKEDANCE. In 1989, as the metal scene slipped into the shadows and grunge took over, Michael decided to get away for a while and served four years in the military during Desert /Shield Storm.

Fast forward to 2000, Michael takes heed to his calling again as a vocalist and forms HATE (a modern metal sound comparable to GODSMACK and DISTURBED). HATE would not survive the endless calling in his soul to create that classic sound of metal that Texas became famous for in the '80s. 2003 Michael finds himself with ANCIENT CROSS who had the same influences and same dream... to bring back true Texas metal. ANCIENT CROSS shares the stage with HELSTAR, AGENT STEEL, SHADOWKEEP and REVEREND amongst the many shows and hits the studio in 2005. November 2005 Michael hears about the REVEREND audition and is offered the vocalist position but due to rehearsal location, the fact that David Wayne's shoes can never be filled and the thought that anyone who tried to come in and front REVEREND now would catch a lot of criticism and would be measured against David Wayne. Michael respectfully declines.

May 2006 ANCIENT CROSS decides to take a much needed break while searching for a new bassist. This was the perfect opportunity for Michael to re-think and pursue the REVEREND position which was still vacant. REVEREND invites Michael once again to rehearsal and all goes very well. Michael is once again offered the position and humbly accepts. REVEREND is back!

Commented Michael: "It's an honor to be a part of something that David Wayne had created and continued to pursue before his untimely death. I will never be able replace him...but just do my very best to honor him by carrying on as the new vocalist."

As previously reported, Wayne died on May 10, 2005 due to complications from injuries he sustained in a head-on automobile accident several months earlier. He was 47 years old.
