REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE Performs In São Paulo; Video Available

December 2, 2009

REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE members Timo Tolkki (guitar; ex-STRATOVARIUS),Gus Monsanto (vocals) and Bruno Agra (drums) were joined by guest musicians Andria Busic (bass) and Fabrizio Di Sarno (keyboards) for a special one-off concert at the Blackmore Rock Bar in São Paulo, Brazil on November 22, 2009 to celebrate the release of REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE's "Age of Aquarius" album.

The band's setlist was as follows:

01. Heroes (REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE)
02. I Did It My Way (REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE)
03. Galaxies (STRATOVARIUS)
04. Last Night On Earth (REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE)
05. Out Of The Shadows (STRATOVARIUS)
06. Revolution Renaissance (REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE)
07. Age of Aquarius (REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE)
08. Season of Faith Perfection (STRATOVARIUS)
09. Key To The Universe (TIMO TOLKKI)
10. Anthem to The World (STRATOVARIUS)
11. Into The Future (REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE)

Commented Tolkki: "It was a lot of fun play[ing] my old and new songs. They seem to work very well in a live situation.

"Nobody was asking for 'Black Diamond', but I wrote over 200 songs in [STRATOVARIUS], so we will play in the future for sure a nice collection of fresh STRATO songs that people are not bored to hear. There is a lot to pick from.

"I think playing the same set list for seven years is a bit boring."

Tolkki is in the middle of a three-week "masterclass seminar" tour of Brazil. A similar clinic tour is being booked for Europe in March/April and for USA/Canada in June/July. Timo says, "It is really taking off very well. I might film it and make a DVD."

REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE in October parted ways with bassist Justin Biggs and keyboardist Michael Khalilov because it "became evident to everybody that REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE was not the right band for the guys," the group said in a statement. "Justin is more of a thrash guy and Mike expected the music to be something totally different. Out of these reasons the decision has been made that it is better to go separate ways."

Biggs has since been replaced by Magnus Rosén (HAMMERFALL, X-WORLD/5, FULL FORCE).

REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE recently signed a three-album deal with Napalm Records.

The remaining members of the band have been writing new material "for many months now" and you can expect the follow-up to this year's "Age Of Aquarius" sometime in 2010.

Recorded over three months in Finland, REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE's sophomore album, "Age Of Aquarius", was released in March 2009 via Scarlet Records. It was described in a press release as "by far the darkest, heaviest and most symphonic album that Tolkki has ever been involved in."
