RIDE FOR DIME Benefit Event: Details Revealed

April 9, 2007

The third annual Ride For Dime — a one-day "Dimebag Darrell Remembrance Ride and Concert" which consists of a 52-mile motorcycle run in the morning followed by a live performance in Arlington, Texas — will take place on August 19. Scheduled to appear at the concert are PUMPJACK, TEXAS HIPPIE COALITION, LOWSIDE (featuring Darrin Delatte and Ron Taylor of LILLIAN AXE),BLACK TOOTH (a band from Turkey that was specifically requested by late PANTERA guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott's longtime girlfriend Rita) and WHISKEYDICK, among others. Proceeds from the event will benefit Little Kids Rock, an innovative non-profit music education program that provides free instruments and rock 'n' roll lessons to public schools.

Ride For Dime was first organized two years ago by local Dallas members/moderators of DAMAGEPLAN's official forum as an event which would not only honor Dimebag Darrell, but also raise money to help with the massive expenses incurred by all of the victims that tragic night. The organizers have since shifted their donations to benefit a charity organization of the Abbott family's choice.
