RIOT's Set Cut Show At Spain's ATARFE VEGA ROCK Festival

March 3, 2005

Veteran American hard rock outfit RIOT have just returned from Europe where they performed at the 2005 edition of Spain's Atarfe Vega Rock festival. RIOT singer Mike DiMeo was unable to accompany the band to the festival in due to his commitment to THE LIZARDS (featuring drummer Bobby Rondinelli of BLUE ÖYSTER CULT/BLACK SABBATH/RAINBOW fame). As a result, RIOT guitarist Mark Reale hired vocalist Mike Tirelli (MESSIAH'S KISS, HOLY MOTHER, BURNING STARR) to fill in for DiMeo at the concert, which included additional appearances by MEGADETH, FEAR FACTORY, QUIET RIOT, CANDLEMASS, and U.D.O., among many others. A post-festival report on RIOT's official web site reads as follows:

"Thanks to all of the fans (5,000 plus) who came to the Atarfe Vega Rock festival on Saturday and saw RIOT perform live, it was worth the trip and the band had a great time!! We ran out of time on stage and did not get a chance to perform all of the songs on the set list We are sorry about that but had no control of the timeframes we were given."
