RIPE Parts Ways With Bassist

January 11, 2011

Danish metallers RIPE have parted ways with bassist and founding member Bob Thunder.

Commented the band: "Bob would like to explore and pursue a new musical direction and therefore we decided to go our separate ways. We split up on friendly terms and we all agreed that it was the right thing to do.

"It has been a great ride with Bob in the band. He has been a great friend and colleague, and we will miss him dearly. We wish Bob all the best in the future, and expect you to do the same!

"On the positive side, we're working hard to finish our next album, 'The Eloquence Of Silence'. All tracks have been written, and we have already made a pre-recording for promotion. We're starting recordings for the album very soon, and hopefully 'The Eloquence Of Silence' will be ready for release in second quarter of 2011."

RIPE's debut album, "A Moment Of Forever", was recorded during the summer of 2009 and was released on April 26, 2010 via Mighty Music. The CD featured guest appearances by Michael Denner (MERCYFUL FATE, KING DIAMOND),Billy Cross and Dagfinn Joensen (FATE).
