RISE TO ADDICTION Begin Recording Debut Album

October 4, 2005

RISE TO ADDICTION, the British band featuring former BLAZE members Rob Naylor (bass),John Slater (guitar) and Steve Wray (guitar),have commenced the recording sessions for their debut album with producer Andy Sneap (MACHINE HEAD, ARCH ENEMY, NEVERMORE). As a result, they have been forced to cancel their previously announced October 21 show at CJ's Bar in Leeds, England.

Commented Slater: "We always regret having to cancel shows not that we've had to do it before but everything has been happening so fast recently it was inevitable that our work load would begin to overlap. We have discussed ways to get around it but we hope you all agree that the most important thing at this moment in time is to continue with the recording. That said, it is our intention to have a break from the studio in November before revisiting with a fresh and revitalised return with new material which is also currently being written."

In other news, RISE TO ADDICTION are currently working on a video for the song "Cold Season".

Commented Slater: "Some time ago we decided we wanted to produce a video to one of the songs with the possibility of using it purely for promotional use. 'Cold Season' was the first song we wrote together when both Leigh [Oates, vocals] and Aynsley [Dickinson, drums] completed the band. It has all the ingredients that make this band what it is and already having recorded the track we saw no reason why we should wait any longer to make the video.

"Unlike the 'Falling As One' video, we teamed up with some pros instead of doing it ourselves. This took a lot of pressure off us so we could still focus on recording the album. We discussed the storyboard and filming commenced last week. Because the majority of the video had to be filmed in total darkness we filmed straight after a gig last week and well into the following day. Very tiring indeed."
