ROB ZOMBIE Guitarist Covers MICHAEL JACKSON's 'Beat It'; Audio Sample Available
August 30, 2011ROB ZOMBIE/ex-MARILYN MANSON guitarist John 5's instrumental cover version of the MICHAEL JACKSON classic "Beat It" can be purchased via Amazon.co.uk. The track will appear on John 5's long-awaited sixth solo studio instrumental album, "God Told Me To", tentatively due before the end of the year.
In a recent interview with U.K.'s Kerrang! magazine, John 5 stated about his forthcoming CD, "I have an album called 'God Told Me To' [coming out] and it's half heavy and it's half acoustic, which I've never done before. I'm doing a cover of MICHAEL JACKSON's 'Beat It', an instrumental version of it. And it's gonna be amazing. I'm really excited about this record 'cause of the acoustic stuff, 'cause I've never done that before. And it's gonne be awesome. I'm so excited for this to come out. I think I'm gonna put a [making-of] DVD out with it. People always like to see how I do things and stuff."
"The Art Of Malice", the last solo album from John 5, sold around 1,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 27 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
