ROB ZOMBIE Guitarist JOHN 5 Interviewed At SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL (Video)
June 15, 2011CrankItUp.se conducted an interview with ROB ZOMBIE/ex-MARILYN MANSON guitarist John 5 at this year's edition of the Sweden Rock Festival, which was held June 8-11, 2011 in Slvesborg in southern Sweden. You can now watch the chat below.
When asked if he was working on any new solo material, John 5 told U.K.'s Kerrang! magazine, "I have an album called 'God Told Me To' [coming out] and it's half heavy and it's half acoustic, which I've never done before. I'm doing a cover of MICHAEL JACKSON's 'Beat It', an instrumental version of it. And it's gonna be amazing. I'm really excited about this record 'cause of the acoustic stuff, 'cause I've never done that before. And it's gonne be awesome. I'm so excited for this to come out. I think I'm gonna put a [making-of] DVD out with it. People always like to see how I do things and stuff."
"The Art Of Malice", the latest solo album from John 5, sold around 1,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 27 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
Rob Zombie recently welcomed ex-MARILYN MANSON drummer Ginger Fish into the current lineup of his band, replacing Joey Jordison, who is leaving to return to SLIPKNOT.
Fans will get to see Fish on the road with Zombie this summer, when Zombie co-headlines a string of North American dates with SLAYER. The trek begins on July 20 in Reading, Pennsylvania, finishing up on August 6 in Seattle.
