ROB ZOMBIE To Create Horror Comic

July 14, 2003

Rob Zombie has signed on with comic-book companies MVCreations and CrossGen Entertainment to create the six-issue comic series "Rob Zombie's Spook Show International".

According to a press release, the first story "begins as the evil Zombie is freed from his eternal slumber." The second "is based on the chilling back stories behind the Zombie hit movie 'House of 1000 Corpses'," and the third "entails espionage, kidnapping, strip clubs and monsters galore."

In other Zombie-related news, "House Of 1000 Corpses" will get its U.K. premiere as the closing film at London's "Frightfest 2003" on August 25. Given that the film has been in red-tape limbo for the last three years, Zombie is thrilled that his homage to '70s horror exploitation movies is finally going to be shown on U.K. cinema screens.

"The fact that this film has been rescued twice from being locked in a vault and left to rot, makes me feel great," said Zombie. "It is amazing how much trouble this dirty little horror movie has caused!"

"Frightfest 2003" runs from August 22-25 at the Prince Charles Cinema, 7 Leicester Place, London WC2H 7BP. For more information, go to www.frightfest.co.uk.
