ROBERT PLANT Helps Raise Money for Children’s Hospital
May 11, 2006World Entertainment News Network is reporting that LED ZEPPLIN's Robert Plant, Roger Daltrey, and Lulu raised $3.4 million for charity by playing a gig under the name of RD CRUSADERS last night.
The supergroup raised the cash for a children's hospital while playing for an audience of celebrities and businessmen, including Kevin Spacey and Mohamed Al Fayed at London's Old Billingsgate Fish Market.
The concert was organized by British newspaper proprietor Richard Desmond.
After taking part in renditions of "My Generation" and "Shout", THE WHO star Daltrey said, "We were talking about ways we could raise money for charity and I said to Richard that I would sing in any band put together. He went away and the names he came back with were fantastic."
The money will be donated to The Evelina Children's Hospital Appeal.
