'Rock N' Roll Heaven' Reunion Concert Benefit Funds To Be Distributed By UMSFL

July 3, 2013

Rock N' Roll Heaven and the Old Bridge Metal Militia have announced that on July 28, funds raised by their reunion concert and benefit for Superstorm Sandy Relief will be distributed by Under My Skin For Life (UMSFL),a charitable organization based in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey. UMSFL worked hand in hand with the reunion concert and benefit organizers to make this effort possible. The Rock N' Roll Heaven and Old Bridge Metal Militia Reunion Concert and Benefit for Superstorm Sandy Relief took place on May 11 in Freehold, New Jersey and raised over $40,000 in proceeds to be donated.

108 families are to be awarded Visa gift cards, which will enable them to purchase groceries, clothing and other basic needs that they are struggling with since being displaced by Superstorm Sandy in October 2012.

"The Under My Skin For Life Foundation, Rock N' Roll Heaven, Jon and Marsha Zazula and the Old Bridge Metal Militia are proud to announce the distribution date for the funds raised by the Sandy Relief concert held on May 11, 2013," states UMSFL representative Walter Ryan. "We will be distributing the funds raised at the 'night to remember' concert on Saturday, July 28 at the UMSFL headquarters in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey at 11:00 a.m. to those persons who qualified for the aid. We anticipate being able to issue Visa gift cards valued between $300 and $500 to 108 families in the Sandy affected area who applied. Qualification criteria was the following: primary address, proof of residency, insurance claim or rejection letter, FEMA claim or rejection letter, application, photo ID and a postmark on the application between June 1 and June 30 of 2013."

Ryan continues, "Response was overwhelming as our maximum number of families to help was met within the first five days of application acceptance. All applications received that we were not able to help this go around, are being cataloged so that when additional funds become available we can hit the ground running and get those funds into their hands with little down time. This was a truly humbling experience for the volunteers at UMSFL. We are very happy to help those that need it most although we are saddened that we cannot help each and every family that applied."
