Romanian Customs Officers Fired Over AC/DC Incident

According to the Herald Sun, Romania has fired four civil servants after Australian rockers AC/DC became stuck on a "Highway to Hell" and were unduly asked to pay to leave the country.

A fifth employee of Romania's national roads company has been demoted over the incident, which happened after the band played a concert last month in front of 60-thousand fans in Bucharest.

The overzealous workers had stopped the band's convoy at the Hungarian border and demanded 2,500 euros in so-called fines for allegedly failing to pay highway tolls.

In a letter to the company AC/DC said it received no receipt for the fine.
