ROSE FUNERAL Signs With METAL BLADE RECORDS

April 23, 2008

Cincinnati, Ohio-based death metallers ROSE FUNERAL have inked a deal with Metal Blade Records. The quintet will be in the studio from May 12 to June 1 recording its full-length debut, "The Resting Sonata", due before the end of the year.

Commented the band: "It's such a privilege to be sharing a label with such great bands we have all grew up on, listening to over the years. Knowing we are now a part of the Metal Blade family is an honored feeling. We have been jamming music and bands since we were young, gathering influences from the bands we loved, hoping one day we could reach that level of our favorite musician we had seen on stage, and when that day finally hit us, it was such a shock and great feeling! We would like to thank Metal Blade President Michael Faley, the entire staff of Metal Blade Records, Anthony 'Yogi' Allgood, our families, and all of our fans for getting us to where we are now. If it wasn't for you, our dreams would not be a reality. Thank you!"

According to the band's official bio, ROSE FUNERAL's sound is "comparable to [that] of THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, AT THE GATES, and PRAYER FOR CLEANSING," featuring "fast-paced riffs, bone-crushing breakdowns, and in-your-face melodies."

ROSE FUNERAL released a demo titled "Buried Beneath the Blood" in March 2006, followed by the band's second EP, "Crucify.Kill.Rot", in August of that same year.
