ROSE TATTOO Documentary To Be Screened In Sydney Next Month

August 28, 2007

The feature-length documentary on the Australian rock legends ROSE TATTOO, called "Rock'n'Roll Outlaw", will be screened on Thursday, September 13 at 7:00 p.m. at The Guthrie Theatre in Sydney, Austria.

The documentary is the brainchild of writer/director/editor/producer Lucille Clements, who has just completed and submitted her Doctor of Creative Arts Thesis, the creative production part of which is the "Rock'n'Roll Outlaw" film.

Filmed on the road with ROSE TATTOO, "Rock'n'Roll Outlaw" reveals rare private collections of photographs and offers a "fascinating insight" into the history of the worldwide "Oz rock" phenomenon. Featuring founding members Pete Wells, Angry Anderson, Ian Rilen, Mick Cocks and Geordie Leach, the film opens with ROSE TATTOO members reminiscing about these tough first few years of gigs and life on the road together. Their memories bring back intense feelings — the ebb and flow of friendship and friction that continued for ROSE TATTOO over the next thirty years.

"Rock'n'Roll Outlaw" charts ROSE TATTOO's transformation from defiant youth — touring Europe and the U.S. in the 1980s — to dissident maturity in the 21st century following a remarkable journey. As they revisit the Australian and international stage with renewed enthusiasm, they tell of their satisfaction at playing to audiences now spanning two generations of fans across the globe.
