ROSE TATTOO: Funeral For Former Bassist To Be Held Tomorrow

Funeral services for former ROSE TATTOO bassist Ian Rilen — who passed away on October 30 after a battle with bladder cancer — will be held on Saturday, November 4 at 11:00 a.m. at the Melbourne High Memorial Hall in Alexandra Avenue, South Yarra, before a private ceremony for family. Ian's wake will be held at West St Kilda RSL in Lock Street, St Kilda West, from 2:00 p.m.

Rilen, a father of four who also led the band X, co-wrote one of ROSE TATTOO's biggest hits, "Bad Boy For Love". His former manager Ian Wedd said it was a metaphor for his life.

"When Ian pumped the bass, you felt it hit your guts," he said. "Lip jutting out, low to the ground stance, grinding you into submission."

COLD CHISEL songwriter Don Walker earlier called him "a national treasure."
