April 17, 2013Rock My Life conducted an interview with Sakis Tolis, the frontman of Greek extreme metal veterans ROTTING CHRIST, during the band's March 2013 tour of Brazil. You can now watch the chat below.
"Kata Ton Demona Eaftou", the eleventh full-length studio album from ROTTING CHRIST, was released on March 5 (four days earlier in Europe) via Season Of Mist. The band spent more than four months at Deva Soundz studios in Athens crafting what it says "may be its darkest and more mystical and occult outcome ever." The CD was mixed by Jens Borgen (AMON AMARTH, PARADISE LOST, KATATONIA, OPETH) at Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden.
According to a press release, "the principle of Do What Thou Wilt is the threat leading through this amazing album, which is inspired by ancient cultures around the globe. ROTTING CHRIST employ poetry from the Sumerians and Incas as well as a Romanian folk song, the tale of an undead Russian water spirit, Voodoo, Zoroastrianism and other sources."
